Note: Real Estate photography with a drone requires a licensed drone operator. In addition, certian airspace prohibits drone operation all together or allows it only with an authorization or waiver (e.g. near a towered airport). The FAA has confirmed that fines can be applied for both the pilot and the agent who hired the pilot. The fine for a real estate agent hiring an unlicensed operator is $11,000. The pilot can receive a fine of $1,100 per occurrence. Even if the drone operator does not charge for their services (say a family member), the images are being used for financial gain and still considered a commercial operation.
